Why Central Vietnam and Lang Co?
As many cities in Asia hurtle towards modernity, a region of Vietnam is working to ensure that its future embraces the best of its past.
Yet for many visitors in the know, the country’s true allure is midway between, in a region that encompasses historic towns, picturesque countryside, unspoiled beaches, museums, handmade arts and crafts – and a warm welcome from the locals. Such tranquility provides a soothing break from the office treadmill.
Lang Co is a coastal city in Central Vietnam rated as one of the most beautiful bays in the world by Worldbays Club in 2009 thanks to its increasing awareness of natural scenic beauty, rich historical heritage and pleasant tropical warm climate. Lang Co has not yet become a hot, developed destination. In addition to the natural and cultural values, Lang Co also has the historical story from the Nguyen Dynasty which makes this place unique and distinct. Nearly 100 years ago, King Khai Dinh discovered and confirmed the value of Lang Co as a “fairyland”. In Vietnam, there are indeed very few places that a King of Vietnam has decisively identified as a vacation spot of such great value as that of Lang Co. The affirmation of such beauty was inscribed on a stone monument reserved in Lang Co. When he returned to the citadel, King Khai Dinh, ordered a holiday home to be built in Lang Co for him and the royal retreat was called “Hành Cung Tĩnh Viêm” – “The Summer Palace” – “Résidence d’Été de L’Empereur d’ Annam”.
Laguna Lăng Cô
Set in a spectacular and intimate location, the 280-hectare integrated Laguna Lăng Cô resort is surrounded on all three sides by mountains that exclusively overlook the most unspoiled bay on 3-kilometre private beach. Maintaining its luxurious isolated location from city crowds, Laguna Lăng Cô is at short distance from three distinctive UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including the ancient capital city of Hue, the charming ancient trading port of Hoi An and the Cham Kingdom sanctuaries at My Son, featuring a wealth of temples and monuments with intricate carvings.
Laguna Lăng Cô’s development and vision
The resort has successfully completed its Phase 1, which comprises two brand name hotels, luxury private residences and an 18-hole golf course. The resort is well positioned to take advantage of the growing tourism sector. The government’s strong support and increasing awareness of Vietnam’s scenic beauty and rich culture resulted in its international tourist arrivals of more than 12,900,000, increasing by 29.1% year on year for 2017 at a growth rate that is significantly higher than other Southeast Asia countries.
Incoming developments during the next 5years from 2018 include construction of a casino, MICE facilities, 5-star hotels, private residences, non-seasonal entertainment activities, sporting and resort attractions which will increase global awareness of the resort and allow it to be promoted as an integrated beach holiday destination.
There is a substantial amount of infrastructure already built that will allow the rapid development of future phases. This extends from maintenance workshops, to waste water treatment plants, laundry facilities, roads, bridges, electricity, water and environmental management systems. Laguna Lang Co enjoys a reputation as being environmentally friendly and contributes significantly to the local community as well as the economy of Hue.
The project expansion with an increased investment capital of USD2 billion and the operation of a casino is on existing land and is fully compliant with the central and provincial masterplan; all related compensation work has already been completed. The project has been developed in an environmentally friendly manner and we commit to comply fully with all regulations and measures to promote sustainable and eco-friendly development.
Phase 2 comprises:
• MICE facilities
• Non-seasonal attractions
• Private residences
• Large luxury hotels
